Aromatheraphy Allows For Greater Intimacy

The International Journal of Aromatherapy says that the aroma of sandalwood relaxes ideas about how sex 'should be' and allows for greater intimacy with your lover by bringing you both to the present moment. This is because essential oils like sandalwood stimulate the brain, triggering a response in heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, stress levels, and even hormone balance. See? Different essential oils trigger different responses! Peppermint stimulates, lavender calms. You can actually use aromatherapy to stimulate the parts of your brain that you use to enjoy sex!

Jasmine's chemical makeup makes it a rich aphrodisiac. According to Tara Fellner, a recognized aroma therapist, the most effective aphrodisiac oils come from white, night-blooming flowers that are moth-pollinated. Others include narcissus, madonna lily, tuberose, lilac, and indole. They absolutely will turn you on! There are many ways to diffuse essential oils. Simply tapping a few drops onto a tissue and putting it in the bedroom is one way, but the effect isn't long lasting. Heating the oils gently with a tea light or light bulb is most potent, but take care! Essential oils must be kept away from open flame. Recommended are lamp rings, clay pot diffusers, or candle diffusers. They are all inexpensive and easy to use.

Certain aromas are more effective on women than men, and vice versa. Women respond best to ylang, rose, clary sage, neroli, and rosewood. Special aromas to men are cinnamon, sandalwood, lavender, patchouli, coriander, jasmine, and cardamon. Do not let this limit you! Rose is a universal love oil, men like it too, especially when mixed with a spice oil like cinnamon to stimulate their brains.

Never underestimate the power an aroma can hold over you. A weekend spent with your lover, using up a vial of indole oil, can echo in an instant, years later, if you catch a whiff of the flower in a park. You may find yourself in the middle of nowhere with very wet panties!

Essential oils may be treated as medicine in many ways. If you have a medical condition, or are pregnant, pay attention to safety information before using essential oils. This is very concentrated stuff: 2000kg of roses will produce a mere 1kg of rose oil. It will actually dissolve latex! Aromatherapy is not effective with perfume oils, only essential oils. Our brains respond to special chemical constituents, not simply the scent itself.
